The most common questions about certifications, quality processes, welding methods and logistics.
For us to provide a fast and accurate quote, three pieces of information are critical:
If there are no drawings, no problem — we can start from a sample or photo and reverse-engineer.
For standard component quotes we target a response within 48 hours. For complete structures or PED/CE pressure equipment this can extend to 5 – 7 business days — because we deliver calculations, WPS and NDT plans together with the quote.
No. We produce both single-part prototypes and 1,000-unit series. However, working at MOQ=1 reflects the entire setup cost onto a single part — we state this transparently from the outset.
Yes. Under reverse engineering we model the sample with a 3D scanner or manual measurement and produce the manufacturing drawing. After your approval we proceed to production. We also deliver the drawing files to the customer during this process.
For first orders we generally work with 40% advance + 60% before shipment. For continuing customers we open term accounts or open accounts secured by bank guarantee letters. International orders have L/C or T/T options.
Actively held certifications:
In addition, production is carried out in compliance with PED 2014/68/EU and EN 15085-2 requirements.
For each certification we can share the current certificate file in the quote or upon request.
VT (visual), PT (penetrant), MT (magnetic particle) and UT (ultrasonic) inspections are performed in-house by our EN ISO 9712 Level II certified personnel. Only RT (radiography) requires a radiation licence and is performed by our authorised laboratory partner — in either case we deliver the full report chain to the customer.
Yes. By default, EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are added to all projects. For PED scope or special customer requests, 3.2 certificates (independent inspection body approved) are obtained. Optional PMI (Positive Material Identification) testing verifies material grade before site work.
If the customer requests, we invite an accredited third-party inspection body (notified body) to our factory and have witness inspections performed at the WPQR, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), NDT and dimensional control stages. These reports are delivered to the customer in the Final Documentation Dossier.
We assign each material part a unique HEAT / LOT number. This number is chained through cutting, welding, painting and shipping in our system — so even 10 years later you can query, by file number, with which WPS, by which welder (WPQ) and on what material a given weld was made.
We routinely use the MAG (135/138), TIG (141), MMA (111) and Submerged Arc (SAW, 121) processes. We have approved WPS and pWPS portfolios for each. Selection is made by our welding engineer based on material, thickness, position and quality class.
All welders working in-house are certified to EN ISO 9606-1. Certificates are filed by process, material group, thickness and position; reviewed every 6 months and renewed by re-examination every 2 years. WPQ records can be delivered with the project documentation.
Yes — we have a calibrated stress-relief furnace in-house. Temperature and time records are taken automatically by chart recorder + digitally and filed. We also offer mobile PWHT service for large equipment.
Yes. We operate two physically separated workshops for carbon steel and stainless steel — no shared equipment, even welding torches, grinding wheels, brushes and gloves are colour-coded. This discipline reduces galvanic contamination risk to zero.
Yes. S960QL (fy ≥ 960 MPa) is a quenching & tempering (QT) treated steel and requires special precautions in welding. At ArmaWeld for this material:
Working with this steel requires procedural discipline as much as technical capability. If your project includes S960QL, please indicate it in advance — we can share our WPS portfolio.
Both are high-strength steels but their production methods differ, which fundamentally changes the welding approach:
We have separate WPSs for both materials. Indicating which one you use up front lets us prepare the correct procedure.
Yes. We perform TIG (141) welding on EN AW-5754 (AlMg3) and EN AW-6082 (AlSi1MgMn) alloys. Our aluminium qualifications:
To prevent carbon-steel contamination in aluminium fabrication, separate tool sets and cleaning procedures are applied. We can share a sample WPS during the quote phase.
For standard delivery we quote according to Incoterms options including wooden crate or palletised packaging, corrosion protection (VCI), labelling, customs documentation and insurance: EXW FCA FOB CIF DAP.
Yes — for structural steel and process equipment projects, on-site assembly + commissioning is offered as an option. Our installation team holds working-at-height, welding and crane certifications. For overseas site projects we provide a complete service including visas and equipment transport.
Yes — we regularly export to Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Romania, Morocco and the UAE. We prepare all foreign trade documents like EUR.1, ATR, certificate of origin, CE DoP completely with our in-house foreign trade specialist.
24 months warranty against workmanship and material defects. For wear parts (e.g. excavator bucket teeth), warranty coverage is contracted separately based on usage conditions. For PED and structural steel products warranty period may vary based on the CE application scope.
Yes. We carry out revision, repair and life-extension work on parts we delivered or those from other manufacturers. After a status report, reverse engineering and the necessary NDT scans, we issue a refurbishment plan.
We archive all project documentation digitally for 10 years. When you create a request with the order number or project code, we resend WPS, WPQR, NDT reports, material certificates and dimensional control records as a PDF package within 48 hours.
Send your technical questions directly to our project engineers. We usually respond the same day. You can share drawings for a preliminary cost assessment — confidentiality guaranteed by NDA.
